Lauren Spears

Lauren Spears joined the Gulf Coastal Plains Ecosystem Partnership in June of 2026 as a member of the Ecosystem Support Team. Lauren graduated with honors from the University of Florida in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Conservation and a Minor in Wildlife Ecology. Born and raised in Northwest Florida, she was taught to appreciate and respect nature by her grandfather and has many fond childhood memories learning about plants and wildlife from him while fishing the Escambia River. Today, Lauren plans to use her experiences and education to help restore natural habitats in and around the Florida Panhandle. She is interested in wildlife habitat restoration, prescribed burning, nature photography, and learning about the natural world.
