Earlier this month, Hurricane Isaias made landfall Earlier this month, Hurricane Isaias made landfall in the Florida Panhandle as a Category 2 hurricane, impacting members of the longleaf community, including staff, partners, and supporters. As the first major hurricane of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season and the first hurricane to strike the Southeast since Hurricane Milton two years ago, its effects were felt far beyond the immediate landfall area, but particularly in the Gulf Coastal Plain Ecosystem Partnership (GCPEP) landscape where 16 of our staff live.Whether facing storm damage, fallen trees, or prolonged power outages, many in our community have been navigating the difficult and often exhausting path to recovery. While some of the immediate response may be over, rebuilding homes, properties, and daily routines takes time.Please join us in keeping those affected by Hurricane Isaias in your thoughts and showing your support as they continue to move this work forward.📷 Photos courtesy of GCPEP staff
