What is a Learn & Burn?
“Learn & Burn” field days provide private landowners and others interested in learning about prescribed fire with a hands-on opportunity to see a live prescribed burn demonstration.
Participants will:
- + learn why it is important to burn your woods;
- + learn proper pre-planning and post-burn follow-up;
- + discuss liability issues;
- + view/discuss different burning techniques;
- + have the opportunity to ask questions of experienced professionals;
- + learn about opportunities for additional knowledge.
When will the event take place?
The Learn and Burn will occur on February 26th. In the event of rain or unfavorable burn conditions, the workshop will be rescheduled to March 4, 2025.
This event is FREE and includes lunch, but advanced registration is required.
