** Event will take place on first available burn day. Registered participants will be given 2 days advance notice with exact location.
Southern Pine Hills PBA is hosting a Learn to Burn Growing Season Workshop
- – Attendees will experience this day-long “start to finish” prescribed burn.
- – This is a live fire event in the field.
- – Participants will be assigned to crews.
- – Each crew is led by experienced, Alabama Certified Prescribed Burn Managers.
- – Participants will spend the day observing, asking questions, and gaining hands-on experience with ignition and holding operations.
Requirements
- – Participants should expect to spend most of the day on their feet walking around the burn unit.
- – Participants need to wear natural fiber clothing (jeans, long-sleeved cotton shirts, leather boots), no synthetic materials.
