Longleaf 101 is a 2.5-day event:
Tuesday March 24 and Wednesday March 25 will be full days at the meeting facility;
Thursday March 26 will be a morning field tour and dismiss at midday.
The Longleaf 101 Academy will provide instruction from The Longleaf Alliance and featured guest speakers in “all things longleaf”. The course will consist of both classroom and field learning to begin, or enhance, your longleaf education, no matter your experience level.
Longleaf 101 will guide participants through a wide range of topics:
- – cultural and natural history
- – fire and longleaf
- – site preparation
- – proper planting techniques
- – economic opportunities from longleaf products
- – restoring native groundcover
- – managing for wildlife objectives
- – topics of local significance
Landowners: We are pleased to be able to waive the registration fee for landowners to take part in this Academy, thanks to the generous sponsorship the program has received. Use the RSVP option below to register for the landowner fee waiver, as we have a limited number of spots for this opportunity.
Lodging Information: We do not have a block of rooms set up so you are free to select your own accommodations.
**Attendees will need to check in and present an ID at the Camp Shelby Visitor Center prior to entering.**
