Longleaf & the Landowner is designed especially for beginning landowners and those who are ready to take a more active role in the management and ownership of their land.
- Discover how to seek financial assistance for land stewardship activities and apply for cost-share programs.
- Gain a better understanding of heirs’ property issues and helpful resources.
- Learn the economics, ecology, and management of longleaf pine through a combination of classroom and field instruction.
- All landowners and natural resource professionals are encouraged to attend!
The course takes place over 2 days:
Thursday June 5th – Friday June 6th, 2025
8:30am – 4:30 pm each day
Topics to be covered:
– Working with a Forestry Professional
– Getting Started with Cost-Share
– Creating Your Family Forest Legacy
– Business Planning for Your Family Forest & Farm
– Keys to Establishing Longleaf Pine
Multiple ways to attend:
Landowner registration – $50 for the course
Landowner waiver – available to waive registration costs for landowners who would not otherwise be able to participate
Professional registration – $100 for the course
SAF credits pending
