Longleaf & the Landowner is designed especially for beginning landowners and those who are ready to take a more active role in the management and ownership of their land.
- Discover how to seek financial assistance for land stewardship activities and apply for cost-share programs.
- Gain a better understanding of heirs’ property issues and helpful resources.
- Learn the economics, ecology, and management of longleaf pine through a combination of classroom and field instruction.
- All landowners and natural resource professionals are encouraged to attend!

– Working with a Forestry Professional
– Getting Started with Cost-Share
– Creating Your Family Forest Legacy
– Business Planning for Your Family Forest & Farm
– Keys to Establishing Longleaf Pine
– Understanding Heirs Property and Estate Planning
Multiple ways to attend:
Landowner waiver – This program has a fee and lodging waiver for landowners to attend. Thanks to the sponsors of the event, cost need not be a barrier for anyone interested in attending to learn.
Landowner registration – $50 for the course
Professional registration – $100 for the course; SAF credits pending
LODGING
Dorm-style rooms are available on site.
Single or double occupancy rooms. Each room has its own private bathroom. Linens and towels are provided.
Breakfast will be provided to overnight guests. And Wi-Fi is available throughout the facilities.
Additionally, many hotel chains are available in nearby Andalusia, AL (25 min) and Crestview, FL (40 min).
