Longleaf & the Landowner is designed for historically underserved landowners and land managers interested in longleaf restoration and management.

  • Learn the economics, ecology, and management of longleaf pine and prescribed fire on private lands through a combination of classroom and field instruction.
  • Information on heirs’ property rights and how to seek financial assistance and cost-share opportunities will be presented.
  • Presented as part of the Longleaf for All program for America’s Longleaf Restoration Initiative.

 

 

This is a 2.5 day course:
Tuesday January 24th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Wednesday January 25th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
and Thursday January 26th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

 

Approved for 15 SAF Category I credits.

 

 

LODGING is offered to Academy participants at the Flat Creek Lodge for Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

 

Lodging can be added using one of the registration options below at $150 per night. Coffee and breakfast items will be provided.

 

Room types:
Queen Suite has 2 queen sized beds in the room and private full bathroom.
King Suite has 1 king sized bed in the room and private full bathroom.

 

Shared spaces contain a living room, kitchenette and deck or balcony.  There are two suites per cabin; and four suites in the lodges.

 

Cabins and lodges are booked based on each room being occupied.  Please indicate any requests in your registration form (cabin-mate requests, bed type, accessibility concerns, etc.)
