Drew Arnold is The Longleaf Alliance’s Western Technical Assistance and Training Specialist, serving east Texas through Mississippi from Lucedale, Mississippi.

Born and raised in South Mississippi, with family roots in the agricultural and logging industries, Drew has worked as a wildlife biologist for the Alabama Wildlife Federation and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, gaining experience in managing both private and public lands. He also has five years of experience as a land realty professional, all of which provides a balanced and unique insight into land use, stakeholder needs, and issues private landowners face when buying, inheriting, and managing land.

Drew holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Science in Wildlife, Aquatic, and Wildlands Science and Management from Texas Tech University, where his thesis focus was on upland game birds, specifically Bobwhite Quail. Strengthening his love for longleaf, Drew is an upland game bird biologist and has a passion for upland game birds as well as bird dogs and wing-shooting in general. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, running, reading, restoring antique hand tools, traditional woodworking, and spending precious time with his wife, Candace, and their daughters, Dorothy and Eleanor, as well as their German Shorthaired Pointer, Pepper.
