What is a Learn & Burn?
“Learn & Burn” field days provide private landowners and others interested in learning how to prescribed burn with a hands-on opportunity to gain experience and knowledge.
When will the event take place?
The Learn and Burn will occur between February 7-11, 2022, depending on weather conditions. Participants will be given 2 days advance notice before program is held.
What to expect
– Attendees will participate in a live burn
– Participants are required to sign a waiver on the day of the event.
– Participants must expect to be active most of the day, walking on uneven ground and using/carrying tools.
– Participants must wear all natural fiber (cotton, linen, wool) or fire-retardant pants and shirts. Leather boots are preferred.
– Participants are encouraged to bring eye protection and leather gloves. Items will be provided if needed.
