Advantages of Longleaf Pine in Wind Storms
June 12, 2020
The Longleaf Alliance collaborated with Clemson University and partners from the Longleaf Partnership Council (LPC) on a new factsheet, Blowing in the Wind: Advantages of Longleaf Pine in Wind Storms to communicate the benefits of longleaf pine during windstorms such as hurricanes and tornadoes.
This windstorm factsheet is the second in a series from the LPC to communicate how longleaf pine can outperform other pine species during natural disasters. The first factsheet, Longleaf Resiliency: Insects and Pests, was released in 2019. Thank you to Lisa Lord, Director of Conservation with The Alliance and Dr. David Coyle of Clemson University for authoring these factsheets!
